Admitted to Bar, 1978, North Carolina; admitted to practice in all North Carolina State Courts including the North Carolina Supreme Court; admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, 1978; United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, 1978; United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, 1978; United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, 1978.

Joined the firm as a partner in March 2002. Specialization in General Business and Personal Injury Litigation, e.g., insurance coverage, intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark, trade secrets), contract, covenants not to compete, CAMA regulations and associated insurance coverage issues, franchise, intra-corporate, construction, professional and clergy liability, medical malpractice defense and complex personal injury disputes resolved through  litigation, mediation and arbitration; advice to Fortune 500, Medium and Small Companies on wide variety of matters; have appeared in Court and Depositions across the country; wide experience in all phases of litigation and appeals, including jury focus groups.

HONORS:   Wake Forest Law Review, Wake Forrest Moot Court Board; North Carolina Bar Association Pro Bono Attorney of the Year-2000; First Recipient, Art Prosser Volunteer of the Year for Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities for reorganization of corporate structure; Volunteer of the Year-AIDS Service Agency of NC- ‘98 for decade of contributed legal advice and spearheading merger of Triangle agencies; Volunteer of the Year-Epilepsy Assoc. of NC “97; President’s Award for Excellence-Wake County Bar Association, ‘96 & ‘98 for starting BarCARES pilot program and taking it statewide.
